Some correlates this legend to Osiris story and “rising from the dead” genre of other religious belief. The acacia in the drama played a minor part where it was used as a marker or a reminder. In some culture stepping over a grave is prohibited including Jewish culture so to avoid this, a marker is placed, which in Hiramic legend acacia was used. Coincidentally, acacia tree is also featured in Isis and Osiris legend.

My point is that if immortality is the message of the second section, then acacia should have a major part of the drama.

Truth is what we want to believe and searching for it could be a lifetime preoccupation. Who knows for some it could be an eternity.

I'm at a bit of a loss to understand why you make ...

I'm at a bit of a loss to understand why you make this opening statement...

One of the often-misinterpreted meanings of the drama of the Third Degree is the belief that it represented the concept of immortality.

... then go on to say otherwise, by referring to the acacia meaning "immortality" and mentioning "Eternal reward."

To me, this is what makes the sublime degree, sublime.

However, I agree with this statement:

Symbolically speaking, the Word is open for everyone to discover and to embrace. Most creatures already know "it" but just don’t realize or acknowledge its presence.

Of course, one may not realise that unless they go through a concordant body.

Justa
